Discover What Matters To You

Take a moment to think about how your tendencies might be holding you back. Do you find yourself complaining about your challenges instead of actively working to overcome them? Are you focusing on playing the victim in your own story, rather than stepping into the role of the hero? It’s time to stop complaining and start growing.

For example, if you’ve struggled with weight gain or faced harassment because of it, it’s easy to fall into the trap of self-pity. But here’s the truth: staying in that mindset only pulls you further from your goals. Instead, remind yourself of this simple, powerful truth: I am a work in progress. Say it out loud. Write it down. Repeat it every day.

When you embrace this mindset, you take control of your journey. You stop letting setbacks define you and start using them as stepping stones toward your goals. You’re not stuck—you’re growing. And every step forward, no matter how small, is a victory. Let’s keep moving forward together!

Self-Reflection

Now, it’s time to dive deeper and reflect on what truly matters to you. Use the self-assessment below to gain clarity on who you are, what drives you, and where you want to go. Answer each question honestly, and don’t rush the process—this is your moment to connect with yourself on a deeper level.

ACTIVITY | Self Assess

Answers these questions about yourself. Do not overanyliyze! Just write what comes to you. When you are done, put it down. Come back later and look it over with a fresh perspective.

NOTE: Make sure you answer every question. Don’t leave anything blank!

Discovering why you were born is an enjoyable journey as you discover more about yourself. The feeling of liberation will be overwhelming. Your limitations will be revealed, and the true you will emerge. I worked with a CEO client who was always stressed because she was such a perfectionist. Her projects took twice as long to launch as her competitors’, thereby losing traction and money. Due to her career focus, she realized she was losing contact with her children. We understood that nothing is ever perfect, but adjustments can be made as needed.

Perhaps we will be surprised by what information it gives us about our audience. When she clarified her honest priorities and implemented new, uncomfortable behaviors, her stress level significantly decreased. There was a learning curve for seeing family time as valuable on its own.

It was challenging to submit work that felt hurried. However, the old way of perfectionistic living was no match for the peace and happiness she found.

As we journey through life, we are all at different stages. If you are anything like me, sometimes you feel like you know yourself very well, and at other times you don’t know yourself at all. I want you to figure out as accurately as possible who you are right now. This will help us to really define who we want to be if we aren’t quite there yet. Answer these questions about yourself. Do not overanalyze! Just write what comes to you. When you are done, put it down. Come back to it later and look at it with a fresh perspective. The second time around, look at what you wrote as if you were reading someone else’s answers. Discover something new about yourself that maybe you couldn’t see before. Everyone is different. It’s an adventure! Enjoy the journey.
